Multidisciplinary designer and artist from São Paulo, Brazil, currently residing in Barcelona, Spain; Irena Menk (1984) explores her personal life´s haiku  I SEA YOU  throughout her photographic work. I SEA YOU reflects her life´s journey, of having lived most years overseas and by the sea. Irena contemplates the SEA as the liminal space that is carried throughout her experience, both in its literal ( the space between YOU  / or the object of her attention and I.rena). As well as the Jungian sense  - the sea as symbolic to the inner self. Irena believes there´s nothing more surreal than reality itself, and her photographic work mirrors this notion, often to points of abstraction. However, it's always reduced to its simplest, purest, untouched and  retouched form. Framed in the same proportion pattern, all her photographic work - past, present and future- connect in line, forming a tidal wave. Thus anchoring all series,  in oneness, to the vanishing point: I SEA YOU - a story of water & time.
